VOLUNTEER
FOSTER A DOG

VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED

We need help with the following:

1) Transporting dogs to and from
shelters, the vet, foster/adoptive homes and boarding.

2) Introducing dogs to prospective families and helping at our adoption events.

3) Grooming, walking and socializing the dogs .

4) Newsletter distribution.

- If you're interested in helping in any of these areas, please send us an email at info@sheprescue.org. Please include the following information in your email:

Full name, age, phone numbers, days & times you're available to help, how you'd like to help, your experience with large dogs, etc.
You can also come and meet us and the dogs at our usual adoption event at 1601 Griffith Ave in Los Angeles between 11am and 4pm every Saturday. You have to be at least 18 years of age to volunteer; if you're under 18, you
can still help us but you must have an adult with you at all times while you're around the dogs.

WE DESPERATELY NEED FOSTER HOMES!

Be a foster family! It is such a gift for a dog coming from a shelter! Instead of another kennel, they can go back to a family. Teach your children compassion, responsibility and the joys of caring for a needy dog. The dogs come to you skinny and often with a cold, and they leave healthy and beautiful and ready for their new life. Children do understand and look forward to the next dog who needs help. With a foster family, everybody wins. The dogs do better and are happy with loving people to take care of them, and we get to know the dogs better so when it's time to place them in their forever homes, we can pick the best fit for their personalities.

If you're interested in becoming a foster family, please fill out an application with a note that you're interested in fostering. By answering all the questions completely we can match your home with the right dog to foster.
If you're able to, you can bring your foster dog to our adoptions on Saturday or a meeting can be arranged with a potential adoptive family and you at everyone's convenience.

FOSTER APPLICATION

Some dogs get adopted quickly, some take longer. There's no set time for fostering a dog. You might foster a dog for 2 days or 6 months. We prefer placing our puppies and senior dogs into foster homes first as well as the sick
and emaciated ones who need the help the most. We'll provide the food or be happy to accept your offer to provide it. If your foster dog should become ill, we'll direct you to one of our vets and cover the expenses. You provide the love.
